Romari

Romari is a rare form associated with Romaric, a name from the Germanic tradition combining fame or renown with rulership. Its meaning is therefore commonly expressed as famous ruler. The longer Romaric form preserves the second element more clearly, while Romari gives the established name family a different ending.

Saint Romaric, associated with the foundation of the monastery at Remiremont in France, supplies a historical connection for the longer name family. Romari removes the final consonant and gives that family a different spoken ending. For parents comparing related forms, Romaric keeps the older structure most visible, while Romari preserves the connection in a lighter written shape.
