Rosanna

Rosanna combines the name Rose with Anna. Rose supplies the flower connection, while Anna comes through Hannah and is traditionally associated with grace or favor. The resulting name joins two established names rather than translating one ancient word, making “rose and grace” a summary of its components.

The spelling is familiar in English and Italian naming, with Rosana and Rosanne among related forms. Rose, Rosie, and Anna offer several natural ways to shorten it, each drawing attention to a different part of the full name. Actress Rosanna Arquette provides one recognizable modern bearer. For families wanting to honor both a Rose and an Anna, Rosanna makes that double connection particularly clear while also working as a complete name with its own long-standing usage.
