Sariah

Sariah is a name with a specific religious association in the Book of Mormon, where Sariah is Lehi's wife. It is also sometimes described as a variation of Sarah, but that proposed connection does not establish a single certain etymology for every use. “Princess” is the meaning associated with Sarah rather than an unquestioned translation of Sariah itself.

Sari is a possible short form, and Saria offers a nearby spelling. Parents may choose Sariah because of the religious figure, a family connection, or its flowing sound. That story is more informative than presenting the name as simply a modern combination of Sarah and Mariah. The full form can stand independently without requiring either of those as an official longer name.
