Scarlette

Scarlette is an elaborated spelling of Scarlett, a name associated with the English word for a vivid red color. The word scarlet also has an older history connected with fine cloth, before becoming closely identified with the color. The final e changes the written appearance but does not create a separate French meaning or origin.

Parents may hear Scarlette like Scarlett or place more emphasis on the final syllable, so the intended pronunciation is worth settling early. Lettie and Etta are possible affectionate forms drawn from the ending. Compared with Scarlet and Scarlett, this version looks more ornate on the page. Families can decide whether that appearance matters more than the likelihood of occasionally clarifying the spelling in introductions or official records.
