Selene

Selene is the Greek name associated with the moon and the goddess who personifies it. In Greek mythology she is the sister of Helios, the sun god. That direct lunar connection gives Selene a clear meaning, while the mythological figure supplies a story distinct from a general reference to the night sky.

Selena and French Sélène are related forms with different endings and pronunciations. English readings of Selene vary, so families may prefer to introduce the intended sound explicitly. Celine is a useful sound comparison but has a separate history. Choosing Selene for its moon meaning does not require treating every similar-sounding celestial name as a variant.
