Selina

Selina is commonly connected with Selena and the Greek moon-name tradition, though some references also associate it with Celine. Those are different naming routes, so “moon” and “heaven” should not be combined into a single certain translation. A family’s intended longer connection is useful when explaining the name.

The Selina spelling appears in the comedy series Veep, giving it a recognizable modern fictional association. Selena is the closest spelling comparison for the moon-related route. The letter i can lead English readers to different vowel guesses, so the family’s pronunciation matters more than declaring one universal reading. Selina is complete and does not require a nickname.
