Vaeda

Vaeda is a modern spelling often associated with Veda, the Sanskrit word for knowledge and the name of the ancient sacred texts known as the Vedas. If that is the intended connection, the spelling preserves a meaningful religious and intellectual association. It should not be described as a separate ancient Hebrew name meaning knowledge.

Vaeda also resembles Vada, a form that may be chosen for different personal reasons. The added e makes the intended long-a sound more visible to many English readers, but spelling alone cannot establish which origin a family has in mind. Distinguishing Vaeda from Veda’s traditional written form helps keep the modern name and its possible source clear.
