Violett

Violett is an alternative spelling of Violet, the flower name that ultimately comes from Latin viola. Violet also names a color, so the name can bring to mind both the small flowering plant and its familiar purple shade. The double t gives this version a different written finish without changing the basic botanical association.

The spelling also resembles the German adjective violett, meaning violet-colored, though resemblance alone does not establish a family’s naming intention. Violet has a long place among flower names used for girls, alongside Rose and Lily. Violett keeps that recognizable tradition while choosing a less usual written form. Families considering it can compare whether the extra final letter is meaningful to them or whether they prefer the simpler Violet.
