Yasmin

Yasmin is a name from the Persian word for jasmine, used across several languages, including Arabic. Its floral meaning is specific: jasmine is a plant known for its fragrant flowers, rather than a general word for beauty or sweetness. English Jasmine and forms such as Yasmeen belong to the same broader word and name family.

Yas and Mina are possible informal short forms, while the full name has a concise two-syllable rhythm in many pronunciations. Yasmeen and Yasmine offer useful comparisons, though their written endings may suggest different sounds to different readers. Families can choose the form that fits their language tradition without assuming one spelling changes the underlying flower association.
