Zakari

Zakari is a contemporary form in the Zachary and Zechariah name family, ultimately from Hebrew words meaning “God has remembered.” The biblical history belongs to that wider family, even though this particular spelling is newer. The k and final i give it a different appearance while keeping a recognizable connection to Zachary.

Zak is a straightforward short form. Some families pronounce Zakari much like Zachary, while others emphasize the middle syllable, so the intended rhythm is worth sharing. Parents comparing international forms may also encounter Zakariya, which has its own established usage in Arabic and other languages. Zakari offers a concise option, but it should not be assigned a separate ancient meaning simply because its spelling differs.
