Zhuri

Zhuri is a modern spelling of Zuri, a name associated with the Swahili adjective stem zuri, “good” or “beautiful.” The h belongs to the personal-name spelling rather than adding a separate Swahili meaning. In the language itself, adjective forms change with the noun they describe, so a baby-name gloss is necessarily simplified.

LeBron James's daughter Zhuri is a recognizable bearer of this particular spelling. That public association is separate from the language connection behind Zuri. Families comparing Zhuri and Zuri can consider the visual difference while keeping the same broad naming inspiration in mind. The beauty meaning describes the word root; it does not prescribe a child's appearance, character, or future accomplishments.
