Abrielle

Abrielle is a later form of Gabrielle made by dropping the opening G. Gabrielle is the French feminine form of Gabriel, whose Hebrew elements are traditionally interpreted as God is my strength. Abrielle keeps the flowing middle and ending of Gabrielle while giving the name a softer vowel opening.

Gabriel's place in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions gives the wider family a substantial religious history, although the exact spelling Abrielle is a modern development. It can offer a connection with a Gabrielle in the family while making the names visibly different. The relationship to Gabrielle gives families a clear way to preserve an inherited name while choosing a form with a different opening sound.
