Annya

Annya is a spelling related to Anya, the Russian familiar form of Anna. Through Anna it traces to the Hebrew Hannah family, associated with “grace” or “favor.” The doubled n gives Annya a visible connection with Anna while retaining the y that helps represent the familiar Anya sound in English.

This route should be distinguished from Ananya, a separate Sanskrit name with a different meaning, even when the spellings look close. Anya and Anja are related alternatives worth comparing, and Annie can work as an informal family shortening. Parents honoring an Anna may like Annya as a variation, but should expect to clarify its extra n in writing. The name does not need an invented blend story to explain its established root family.
