Arlie

Arlie is an English personal name associated with the surname and place-name form Arley. Some English places called Arley are explained through Old English elements for eagle and clearing, giving one established route to the name. Because surnames can develop in more than one location, that interpretation is best treated as a family connection rather than a guarantee about every bearer.

The ending gives Arlie a familiar shape alongside other English names ending in ie, and it has been used for both boys and girls. Arley is worth comparing if a family connection comes through a surname or a particular place. The spelling Arlie can stand on its own as a complete given name; it does not require a longer formal name to make it usable.
