Arrow

Arrow is an English word name taken from the slender projectile used with a bow. Its immediate image is one of direction and movement, which allows a family to attach a personal idea of purpose or forward progress to the name. Those are symbolic interpretations of the object, rather than separate dictionary meanings.

The name has been used for both boys and girls, and its final o sound gives it something in common with more traditional names despite its direct word origin. It can appeal to families with an interest in archery or with a particular meaning attached to the arrow symbol. As a complete name, Arrow keeps that image visible every time it is written.
