Arturo

Arturo is the Spanish and Italian form of Arthur. The older name's origin is uncertain, although a connection with a Celtic word for bear is often proposed. Its Arthurian associations are much clearer: the name belongs to the same international family as the king of medieval legend, rather than having a separate meaning created by the final o.

Artur is another related written form, while Arturo adds an extra syllable in familiar Spanish and Italian readings. The r sounds vary by language, so an English pronunciation guide cannot capture every family version. Arturo can preserve a cultural or family connection while remaining recognizably related to Arthur.
