Blue

Blue is an English color word used as a given name. It can evoke the sky, open water, or a particular shade meaningful to a family, while its literal meaning remains the color itself. Those images give it a natural association without requiring an older surname or an elaborate translation.

The name has appeared in both public life and fiction, including Blue Ivy Carter and the central character of Marisha Pessl's Special Topics in Calamity Physics. Blu and the French color spelling Bleu are related choices parents may compare, although each has its own written identity. Blue keeps the ordinary English word intact, making the meaning immediately recognizable to English-speaking readers.
