Cayde

Cayde is a modern spelling of Cade, an English surname and given name. Older explanations of Cade include nickname senses involving roundness or a barrel, but those should not be treated as a description of a child. The added y in Cayde is a spelling choice rather than a separate historical name element.

The character Cayde in the Destiny video-game series provides a recognizable contemporary association. Cade and Kade are close comparisons for sound and background, while Cayden is a longer name whose history should be considered separately. Cayde can therefore be chosen for its family connection, its written form, or the fictional character without those reasons being collapsed into one fixed meaning.
