Drue

Drue is a spelling of Drew, the familiar form of Andrew. Andrew comes from a Greek name associated with a man or manliness, so the older meaning belongs to that full-name family. The spelling Drue changes the written appearance while keeping the same recognizable short form.

Both boys and girls have borne Drue, illustrating how a name can move beyond the grammatical or historical gender of its root. A parent may choose it to honor an Andrew, to preserve a family spelling, or simply as an independent given name. Drew is the most immediate comparison, while Andrew makes the derivation clearer. The name's history does not require describing the letters as inherently more masculine or feminine.
