Everette

Everette is a spelling variation of Everett, an English surname-based name ultimately connected with the Germanic Eberhard. The older elements refer to a boar and bravery or strength, conventionally expressed as “brave as a wild boar.” The added final e does not change that underlying name-family history.

Although the ending may remind English readers of names such as Annette, Everette is not automatically a feminine diminutive. It is used as a given name for both boys and girls, and the spelling appears in the names of entrepreneur Everette Taylor and musician Leon Everette. Everett is the closest comparison for a family wishing to preserve the same historical connection with a different written form.
