Everson

Everson comes from a surname with more than one possible family-name route. One connects it with Evert, a form of Everard, whose Germanic elements refer to a boar and strength or bravery. Another traces it through Eve or the medieval familiar form Evot, linking that branch with the traditional meaning life.

The ending son identifies the name as belonging to the patronymic or family-relationship style of surname. Its complete meaning therefore depends on the particular family history rather than on the modern English word ever. Everson also has established use as a first name in Brazil, where footballer Everson Marques Pires provides an example. The same written name can connect different families with different older roots.
