Finnley

Finnley is a spelling variation of Finley, a name connected with the Gaelic personal name Fionnlagh and traditionally interpreted as “fair warrior.” The doubled n makes Finn especially visible within the spelling, while the whole name retains the older compound’s two elements rather than meaning only fair.

Finn is a straightforward shorter form, and Finley and Findlay are related alternatives. Finn also has a separate history as an independent name, so its use as a nickname need not explain every Finn elsewhere. Finnley can be used for boys and girls while preserving the same linguistic background, regardless of which spelling a family chooses.
