Giavanna

Giavanna is a spelling variation of Giovanna, the Italian feminine form of Giovanni. That name belongs to the John family and ultimately comes from Hebrew, with the meaning “God is gracious.” The middle a distinguishes Giavanna visually, but it does not create a separate Italian word or change the underlying name family.

Gia provides a short everyday option, while the full name has a flowing, substantial rhythm. Parents comparing Giavanna and Giovanna may want to consider whether the familiar Italian spelling or the preferred written sound matters more to them. Either can serve as a feminine family honor for John or Giovanni. Pronunciation should be shared explicitly, since readers may respond differently to the changed middle vowel.
