Jazmine

Jazmine is a spelling of Jasmine, the flower name that reached English through French from Persian. Its meaning refers to the fragrant plant. The sometimes-repeated interpretation “gift from God” is not the standard meaning of the flower word and should not replace its clear botanical connection.

The z makes the middle consonant explicit in the written name, while Jaz and Jazzy provide informal options. Jasmine and Jasmin are the closest spelling comparisons. Families choosing Jazmine may prefer its appearance or be preserving a relative’s spelling; either choice can retain the flower association. The name’s botanical story does not depend on using one particular English spelling.
