Julietta

Julietta belongs to the Julia and Juliet family, ultimately derived from the Roman family name Julius. The deeper meaning of Julius remains uncertain, so “little Julia” describes the name's formation more accurately than claiming a definite meaning such as youthful. Julietta is one of several forms with a diminutive ending in this broad family.

Julie and Etta provide two distinct nickname options. Juliet, French Juliette, Italian Giulietta, and Spanish Julieta are useful comparisons, though their spellings and pronunciation patterns differ. Julietta should not automatically be labeled the standard Spanish spelling, since Julieta normally uses one t. Its additional final vowel gives it a fuller rhythm than Juliet while retaining the recognizable literary and name-family connection.
