Kalliope

Kalliope is a Greek name formed from elements meaning beautiful and voice. In Greek mythology, Kalliope is the Muse of epic poetry, giving the name a particularly close connection with storytelling and spoken art. The familiar English spelling Calliope represents the same mythological name with a different initial letter.

A calliope is also a musical instrument often associated with fairgrounds and carousels, extending the name’s musical imagery beyond the ancient Muse. Kalliope keeps the Greek k spelling visible, while Kalli offers a compact familiar form. Its meaning is about the voice itself; it does not predict a child’s singing ability or imply that a musical career is expected.
