Kross

Kross is a modern given-name spelling that evokes the English word cross. For some families, that points specifically to the Christian symbol; for others, the attraction is its short, striking sound. The k changes the visual style, but it does not supply a new meaning or remove the other associations of the spoken word.

Compared with Cross, Kross is more likely to need a spelling clarification when introduced aloud. It may sit beside Cruz on a faith-inspired shortlist, although Cruz belongs to a different language and surname tradition. Kross is already a complete one-syllable name, so a nickname is unnecessary. If the choice is meant to honor a family surname, that particular surname's history should guide the story rather than a generic word-name explanation.
