Krystal

Krystal is a spelling variation of Crystal, an English word name with a much older Greek background. The Greek word krystallos referred to ice and later to rock crystal, reflecting the clear, glasslike appearance shared by the two. As a name, it draws on the mineral's clarity and visible structure rather than on a separate ancient person.

Changing the initial C to K gives Krystal a distinct written identity while keeping the same word and name family. It belongs with names inspired by gemstones and other natural materials, even though crystal can describe more than one mineral. Crystal is the clearest related spelling, and the underlying association with light passing through a transparent material remains the same.
