Letty

Letty has an established history as a short form of Letitia or Lettice. Those names connect with the Latin word for joy or gladness. The same short sound may be borrowed from other longer names, but a Letty derived from Scarlett or Violet does not automatically inherit Letitia's Latin meaning.

Lettie is the closest spelling alternative, and both versions work as complete given names. Letty Ortiz in the Fast and Furious films provides a modern fictional association distinct from the name's older history. A family choosing Letty as an honor name can decide whether preserving the longer original matters or whether the familiar form tells the intended story more directly.
