Lilli

Lilli is a familiar form found in several European naming traditions, including German, Danish, and Finnish. It is connected with Lili and the wider Elizabeth family, but can also be understood through Lily or Lillian. That gives the spelling both a traditional personal-name route and a recognizable flower association.

When Lilli is used for Elizabeth, its inherited meaning comes from the Hebrew oath name; when chosen as a Lily form, the flower is the direct reference. A child's full name need not be Elizabeth or Lillian, since familiar forms can become complete given names in their own right. Lilli's four letters and repeated l give it a compact, balanced written shape. Lili and Lilly are useful neighboring forms to compare when preserving a family spelling.
