Lorena

Lorena is a form related to Lorraine, a name taken from the French region. Its meaning is geographic: it points back to that place-name tradition rather than to a flower, a virtue, or a personality trait. The final a gives Lorena a distinct form familiar in Spanish-speaking use.

Lorraine is the closest comparison for parents interested in the name’s history, while Lorena offers a different ending and rhythm. The two can serve as related honor names without sounding identical. A family may choose Lorena because it preserves a relative’s name, because of a geographic connection, or because the Spanish form fits the languages spoken at home.
