Nicolette

Nicolette is a French diminutive of Nicole, which belongs to the Nicholas family. Its Greek roots combine victory and people. The -ette ending gives it the form of an affectionate elaboration, but Nicolette has also functioned as a full given name for centuries, with a literary history independent of modern celebrity use.

The medieval French work Aucassin et Nicolette places the name at the center of a love story, making it an appealing choice for readers drawn to older literature. Singer Nicolette Larson provides a more recent association. Nico and Colette offer different shorter forms: one preserves the opening, while the other emphasizes the ending. Nicollette, with an extra l, is a recognizable spelling variation.
