Novaleigh

Novaleigh combines Nova with Leigh. Nova is the feminine Latin word for new, and it also appears in astronomy for a star that suddenly becomes much brighter. Leigh comes from an English surname and place-name element associated with a clearing. The combined given name is a modern construction rather than an inherited Latin phrase.

The astronomical connection belongs to Nova: a nova is not simply a newly created star, despite the history of the word. Leigh may contribute its sound, its surname history, or a personal family connection. Novalee is a close spelling alternative that makes the final sound more explicit. Parents can explain Novaleigh through its two components while keeping their individual meanings separate from a made-up literal translation of the whole.
