Octavio

Octavio is the Spanish form of Octavius, a Roman name connected with the Latin word for “eighth.” The numerical meaning belongs to the name’s history; a child does not need to be eighth in a family for the name to make sense today. Octavia is the corresponding feminine form.

The final o gives Octavio a recognizably different shape from Octavius while preserving the same root. Its sequence of vowels also produces a longer rhythm than many short Spanish names. Families may choose it for a namesake, a language connection, or the sound itself, with the number offering a clear historical detail rather than a required naming rule.
