Renzo

Renzo is a short form of Lorenzo that can also stand as a complete given name. Lorenzo belongs to the Lawrence family, originally connected with Laurentum, an ancient place name. The familiar laurel association accompanies that wider tradition, but Renzo is not an independent word directly translating as a bay tree.

The short form keeps Lorenzo’s distinctive ending and removes its opening syllable, giving it a concise two-syllable shape. Families honoring a Lorenzo can therefore preserve a clear connection while choosing Renzo for official as well as everyday use. Lorenzo remains an option when the longer family form and several possible short forms are part of the appeal.
