Santi

Santi can be a short form of Santiago, Santino, or other names beginning with Sant-. In those traditions it connects with words for “saint,” though the complete meaning depends on the longer name. A separate Thai name represented as Santi means “peace.” The shared spelling does not make the Thai and European histories one etymology.

As a complete given name, Santi keeps a brief two-syllable sound without requiring a formal expansion. Parents honoring a Santiago or Santino can preserve a direct family connection, while those choosing the Thai name should identify that origin when explaining the peace meaning. The final i is a useful detail to clarify in writing because similar sounds appear in several different names and languages.
