Seven

Seven is an English number name with a direct meaning: the number after six and before eight. It can carry personal significance through a birth date, a family milestone, or a meaningful number. Seven also has symbolic importance in many religious and cultural traditions, but those associations depend on context and are not one universal definition of the name.

Musicians Erykah Badu and André 3000 chose Seven for their son, giving it a recognizable contemporary namesake. Its two-syllable shape resembles established names such as Steven without sharing their origin. Sev is an optional short form. Parents considering Seven may want to decide whether to explain a particular number connection or simply let the name’s sound and spelling stand on their own.
