Skylah

Skylah is a spelling in the Skyla and Skylar family. Skylar developed from the Dutch surname Schuyler, associated with a scholar, while Skyla and Skylah reshape that surname name with an open ending. The visible word sky gives these forms an additional natural association for English speakers.

The scholarly surname history and the modern sky imagery can both be part of the name's appeal, but they describe different layers of its story. A family may choose Skylah for its connection with learning, for the feeling of open space suggested by its beginning, or for a personal link to a Skylar. The final h adds a written distinction from Skyla without creating a new dictionary meaning or a separate ancient origin.
