Trenton

Trenton is an English-language place name used as a given name. Its familiar connection is Trenton, New Jersey, whose name refers to William Trent, an early landowner. “Trent’s town” summarizes that history more accurately than treating the entire name as a description of a river or landscape. The ending belongs to a common English place-name pattern.

Trent is an obvious shorter option, giving Trenton a useful formal-and-everyday pairing. The full name has two syllables and a clear consonant ending, which can work well beside a softer or longer surname. Trenten is an alternative spelling, although Trenton keeps the strongest visual connection to the city and its established geographical history.
