Veera

Veera has more than one linguistic background. In Finland and Estonia it is a form of Vera, carrying the Slavic name's meaning of faith. Its doubled vowel belongs to that established spelling tradition. The same English-letter form can also represent an Indian name connected with Sanskrit vira, meaning a hero or someone heroic.

Those routes share a spelling without sharing an origin. A Finnish family may choose Veera as a connection to Vera, while an Indian family may understand it through the language of bravery. This distinction also helps explain differences in pronunciation. The intended family tradition is more useful than treating faith and heroism as interchangeable dictionary definitions.
