Alisa

Alisa has an established place in the Alice family, especially in Russian and other European use. Through Alice, it reaches back to a Germanic name associated with noble kind or nobility. A separate Hebrew connection links similar forms with joy, so the family’s language and spelling tradition help determine which meaning is intended.

The open ending gives Alisa a different rhythm from Alice while keeping a recognizable relationship between the two. It can therefore serve as a heritage form or as a way to honor an Alice without repeating the exact name. Alissa is a nearby spelling, while Aliza is especially relevant when the joyful Hebrew connection is the one a family wants to preserve.
