Armani

Armani is an Italian surname used as a given name. It is connected with Ermanno, the Italian form of Herman, whose Germanic elements refer to an army and a man. The surname is especially recognizable through fashion designer Giorgio Armani. That association belongs to the name’s modern cultural life rather than providing its original linguistic meaning.

Armani’s three syllables and open ending give it a different rhythm from shorter surname choices. Ari or Mani can serve as family nicknames, though neither is required. Amani is close in sound but has separate naming traditions and meanings; adding the r does not automatically make Armani an Arabic word for “wishes.”
