Aven

Aven has several proposed histories rather than one agreed meaning. It occurs as a surname and is also used as an English rendering associated with Irish Aoibheann, often interpreted as beautiful or pleasant. That Irish connection should not automatically be assigned to every surname bearer or every modern use of Aven.

Its spelling invites comparisons with Evan, Haven, and Avon, but a shared sequence of letters does not establish a common origin. For a family honoring an Aoibheann, the shorter written form may make the intended name easier to introduce in English. For a surname-based choice, family records offer a more specific story than combining the different proposed meanings into one.
