Celina

Celina is a form related to Céline in several European languages and can also be a shortening of Marcelina. The Céline route is often connected with a Latin family associated with heaven or the sky, while the Marcelina route has a different history. The similar sound of Selina or Selena does not establish that every Celina means “moon.”

Lina is an obvious short form, and the full name has three flowing syllables. Pronunciation varies by language, particularly the opening consonant in Polish compared with English. Parents honoring a Marcelina can explain that specific link; those choosing Celina independently may prefer its complete form. Separating these routes gives a more useful account than combining sky, moon, and unrelated name meanings.
