Chosen

Chosen is an English word used directly as a personal name. It can express a family’s feeling that a child is wanted and cherished, or carry a religious interpretation particular to that family. The ordinary word means selected; it does not establish one shared belief about divine favor for every bearer.

Chozen is an alternative spelling with a more visually prominent z, while Chosen preserves the everyday English form. Both offer a two-syllable sound and a clear meaning parents can explain. A family may choose the name for gratitude, faith, or personal history, without borrowing a celebrity’s reason or making the child responsible for a special destiny.
