Hudsyn

Hudsyn is a modern spelling of Hudson, an English surname meaning “son of Hud.” Hud was a medieval short form used with names such as Hugh, so the name's history begins with a family relationship rather than with the modern river or other places called Hudson. The y changes the appearance of the second syllable while keeping the surname connection recognizable.

Hudson is also familiar through geography, which may add a separate personal association for some families. Hudsyn keeps that sound in a spelling that people may be less likely to guess when hearing it aloud. It can serve as an updated way to carry a Hudson family name, provided the change is intentional. The full name remains concise enough for everyday use without requiring an additional nickname.
