Juni

Juni is the word for June in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish, and it is also used as a personal name. The month-name connection places it alongside seasonal choices such as April and May, with a specifically Scandinavian spelling. The calendar name ultimately goes back to Latin Junius, traditionally associated with the Roman goddess Juno.

For a family connected with Scandinavia, Juni can mark a June birthday or a meaningful time of year while retaining the form used in those languages. English readers may also hear it as a nickname for June or Juniper, but the Scandinavian month word gives it an independent basis. Its pronunciation follows different conventions in Scandinavian languages and English, so a family using it across languages may want to explain the intended first sound.
