Rivka

Rivka is the Hebrew form of Rebecca or Rebekah, the biblical wife of Isaac. Its meaning is traditionally connected with tying or binding, although the deeper etymology is not fully settled. The Hebrew personal-name history is clearer than treating that proposed root as a complete literal description of the biblical figure.

Rifka is a related form, while Rebecca and Rebekah show the name's familiar English versions. Rivka keeps the compact Hebrew shape, with two syllables in a common reading. A family choosing it may be honoring a relative, preserving Jewish naming tradition, or favoring the original form rather than an English adaptation.
