Rocky

Rocky can be chosen as an English word name referring to rocks, or used as a nickname connected with names such as Rocco. Those routes do not have identical histories. Rocco’s older meaning is uncertain, so rest or repose should not be assigned to every Rocky simply because it can serve as a shortening.

Rocky Balboa gives the name a strong film association, while boxer Rocky Marciano offers a real-life sporting one. Rock is a possible short form, although Rocky is already informal and compact. Families can choose it for a landscape image, a relative, or a cultural reference while explaining which connection they intend.
