Hindy

Hindy is an affectionate form of Hinda or Hinde, a Yiddish name associated with a doe. The animal meaning is part of a naming tradition in which familiar creatures supply personal names. It gives Hindy a clear nature connection without implying that a child must have any particular temperament.

The final y presents the familiar form in English spelling, while Hinda and Hinde keep the longer name more visible. Hindy is also used independently, especially in Jewish family naming traditions. For a family honoring a Hinda, the relationship is direct and recognizable. The name should not be mistaken for a reference to the Hindi language simply because the words look similar.
